Everest is a new family of patented keyways that fills the niche between Schlage's Classic and Primus® product offerings. It's the perfect choice for customers who can't cost-justify high security, but want more security than a system with easily copied keys.

The Everest key has a patented undercut groove that prevents other companies from manufacturing and distributing Everest key blanks. Everest keys cannot be copied by residential mall stands or home centers.

Whether your customers want the convenience of an open keyway or the additional security of a restricted keyway, Everest is the right solution.

Everest Restricted Keyways

For customers who require a higher degree of control, cut keys and cylinders are drop-shipped from the factory when authorized by your customer. All it takes is a letter of authorization from your customer.

On request, Schlage will provide a sample letter of authorization for you to give your customers. Once the letter is received and verified, restricted Everest products are shipped directly to your customer, or if authorized, they are drop-shipped directly to you for installation.

Restricted keyways are randomly assigned, but are not offered with geographic exclusivity. Customers who want this level of protection should move up to Schlage Primus high security systems.

Mixing and matching Primus® cylinders with Everest® or Classic cylinders provides a cost-effective, flexible solution. Primus high-security keys can operate Everest or Classic cylinders. This allows interior doors to be secured with Everest or Classic cylinders and vulnerable exterior doors to be protected with Primus cylinders while still maintaining a single building master key. Since Everest and Classic keys do not operate Primus cylinders, you have an extra level of control over how much access each user has when you choose the type of key that is issued.

What is it?

All Everest keys have the patented undercut groove that prevents other companies from manufacturing and distributing the key blanks. For additional security, D Family restricted key blanks are not stocked by locksmiths or other dealers. Schlage requires a letter of authorization from the end user before shipping restricted keys or blanks. Schlage will drop ship Everest restricted products directly to the address specified by the end user.

Restricted keyways are randomly assigned, and are not offered with geographic exclusivity. Customers who want that exclusivity can integrate Schlage Primus Level 9 high security cylinders into the most sensitive areas of their system, since Primus (master) keys can operate conventional cylinders. Conventional keys do not operate Primus cylinders.

• Bulk Pack Cylinders
  The Bulk Pack Cylinder program is a cost-effective way to assemble a large variety of different cylinders from a small flexible inventory of partially assembled units.

  This cylinder lets you carry a single cylinder that can configured to fit Schlage A&H, A&H Orbit, AL, D Knob, and D Lever Series locks. Cylinders are available in both Classic keyways and the patented Everest C Family open keyways. Multiple tailpiece cylinders are priced the same as lever lock cylinders and come with two key blanks.* (*Primus keys sold separately.)
