What is it?

Classic keyways are those available from Schlage before the introduction of Everest®. Conventional (non-Primus) cylinders with these keyways are standard for residential and retail products, and also make up Schlage's large installed base of fine 20th century commercial key systems. Everest C Family keyways are now standard for new Schlage commercial key systems and commercial stock products but Classic keyways can still be specified to support existing key systems.

Classic keys are not patented and the most common can be duplicated by anyone such as home building centers, mall stands, hardware stores, commercial locksmiths and contract hardware dealers.

Key systems using these keyways are generally older, and it is not possible to account for copies of all (master) keys. End users who wish to regain control of their security should consider rekeying to Everest D Family restricted keyways and/or Primus high security cylinders.

Bulk Pack Cylinders

The Bulk Pack Cylinder program is a cost-effective way to assemble a large variety of different cylinders from a small flexible inventory of partially assembled units.

• Selling sub-assembled cylinders in 10-packs lets Schlage pass cost benefits on to you
• Saves labor and cost when keying many cylinders
• Inventory is versatile. Cams and tailpieces are sold separately to install as needed

Multiple Tailpiece Cylinders

This cylinder lets you carry a single cylinder that can configured to fit Schlage A&H, A&H Orbit, AL, D Knob, and D Lever Series locks. Cylinders are available in both Classic keyways and the patented Everest C Family open keyways. Multiple tailpiece cylinders are priced the same as lever lock cylinders and come with two key blanks.* (*Primus keys sold separately.)

IR Fast Track products are available for shipment in either 24-hours or 5-days, depending on the order type.
