What is it?

Small Format Interchangeable Cores (SFIC) are available to answer the need for patented key control among end users of Best®, Falcon, etc interchangeable core key systems. Schlage offers 7-pin cores in Everest B Family restricted keyways to retrofit Best® and its clones. This is the perfect choice for end users who want patented key control in an SFIC hardware application.

All Everest keys have the patented undercut groove that prevents other companies from manufacturing and distributing the key blanks. Locksmiths or other dealers do not stock B Family end user restricted key blanks. Schlage requires a letter of authorization from the end user before shipping restricted keys or blanks. Schlage will drop ship Everest Restricted products directly to the address specified by the end user. End user restricted keyways are randomly assigned, and are not offered with geographic exclusivity. End users who want that exclusivity would need to upgrade their hardware to accept Schlage Primus high security cylinders.

Schlage offers different B Family Restricted keyways to select locksmiths and security dealers to service end users who do not havetheir own in-house key shops. For more details, dealers are invited to download the Everest Answer Book or contact your local IR Security & Safety Consultant.

For convenience, regular 6 and 7-pin cores are also available in the most common Best keyways from Schlage and a wider variety are available from Falcon. SFIC products can never be used in the same key system as Schlage's full size cylinders.

Product Details

• Restricted blanks are stamped with a facility ID code, which helps Schlage trace unauthorized keys to their origin and take action against anyone who duplicates keys without authorization
• Protected against unauthorized manufacture and distribution until July 2014.
• Fits all Best®, Falcon, etc. 7-pin housings without alteration
• Six end user multiplex keyways are available for large key systems.
